Levi in Italy, Day 1

Levi: This is from the journal I kept when I went to Europe with my dad in June.

June 8, 2006-

I actually know the date because of this new watch I just got. Only $12. Woopty-doo. Other than that, we just found our hotel room in France. We are currently in Nice and I am listening to some music. My dad is telling me not to go to sleep in the day because the timezones are different and we need to get used to them. He's a complete hypocrite though. He's taking a nap right now, and I'm wide awake! So here we are. Our room is quite small and only has one bed. It also has a window that looks out at this semi-beautiful city. Kinda looks like Thailand to me. Little market stores all over the place, with almost no road laws. These people's driving skills are insane! They just barely miss crashes. Also, most of the streets are too small for two lanes so most roads are one way. We just ate some Chinese chicken shishkebabs. Yummy, although we only ate 1 1/2 each. Not quite a gourmet meal. The shower in our room is tiny. Smaller than the ones in Thailand! Those crazy French people with their small showers and cigarettes... So many people smoke, it stinks in a lot of places. I find it quite strange that a lot of women just walk in the nude on the beach. Actually saw some old, fat lady doing the same. NOT the site to see! While walking I also noticed some kind of Love Hotel. Why I notice these things surprises me too. Smart cars look so silly. They hardly even fit one person! On top of that, it has no trunk. This is why we invented the lap. I am enjoying the few Supertramp songs I have. They just make you think... Why do women walk around topless when they know that they are quite fat and ugly? Anyway, we went to this chapel (church) and it is huge, it is cool, and it looks beautiful. I took a picture of Papa while he had his hands in the air, and all of a sudden, the church guy comes and says it's disrespectful to the church because we look like we're imitating Jesus. So, he kicked us out. At least we got a cool picture. We went into the alleys and stuff to eat food and have fun, and we couldn't find it! We ate a half pizza, half bread thing that was quite yummy. Kinda big though. We looked around for 5 more seconds, and there it was, the Night Life. We were too full and tired to do anything so we just wandered a bit. Saw some really cool, old alleyways. They looked cool, old, and alleyway like. I just wrote an e-mail to my sister a few minutes ago. The keys on the keyboard are just messed up. Keys are everywhere! It took me a while to figure it out, but i succeeded at writing an e-mail to home. Now, my dad is showering and I'm going to sleep.
